All networks in Nigeria offer this service. Therefore, I'll be pointing out numerous methods on how you can stop browsing with airtime on MTN, Airtel, 9Mobile and Glo.

How to Stop Browsing With Airtime on MTN 

Simply dial the USSD code *131*201# on your phone to stop MTN from using your airtime for data surfing or to opt out of PAYG browsing on the MTN network.

You will be informed when the PAYG service has been successfully deactivated after dialing the code.

You can also stop using the service by sending SUSPEND to 131 through SMS.

How to Stop Browsing With Airtime on Airtel

You can cancel the PAYU service on your Airtel anytime you want to buy any data bundle. A message will be sent to you asking you what should happen to your bundle plan.

Just ignore the first option, which says "Continue browsing from airtime or 160MB extra." So all you have to do is to just choose the second option, which says “Stop my data."

Alternatively, you can also dial the USSD code *400*1# on your phone to successfully stop the Airtel PAYU service on your Airtel line. A notification stating that "You have been opted out from Airtel FREE SURF offer" will be sent to you.

Airtel will therefore stop draining your airtime whenever you browse. 

How to Stop Browsing With Airtime on 9mobile

9Mobile users can surf for N15/5 minutes using the 9Mobile PAYG service. This means that every five minutes of browsing results in a 15 Naira fee.

To deactivate 9mobile PAYG service dial *229*0# on your phone. You won't charged with browsing with your airtime balance after you receive a successful deactivation message.

How to Stop Browsing With Airtime on Glo

Dial *108*2# on your phone to cancel the Glo PAYU service. After a successful deactivation message your Glo airtime won't be deducted whenever you surf the internet.
